What this looks like

If your PC is showing pop-ups warning you to “call Microsoft,” opening browser tabs you didn’t ask for, or running fans constantly while doing nothing — there’s a good chance something is running that shouldn’t be.

We’ll figure out what’s actually going on (often it’s not as bad as it looks), remove anything malicious, and set up reasonable protections so it doesn’t happen again.

What we typically do

  • Full malware scan with multiple tools
  • Remove unwanted programs and browser extensions
  • Reset hijacked browser settings (homepage, search engine, default browser)
  • Patch the underlying OS and apps that let it in
  • Set up a sensible antivirus and explain how to spot the next scam

Did you “call Microsoft”?

If you’ve recently called a number from a pop-up and let someone “fix” your computer remotely — call us right away. Those people install remote-access tools and often capture banking credentials. We can help you check what was touched and lock things back down.

Where we work

In-home across Volusia and Seminole County, or remotely. Most virus issues we can sort out via screen-share in under an hour.

Frequently asked

How long does virus removal usually take?
Most infections we can clean up in under an hour over a screen-share. Anything stubborn — rootkits, ransomware fragments, a PC that won't boot — we'll handle in-home and tell you up front if it's going to run longer.
I called a number from a pop-up and let someone "fix" my computer. What now?
Call us right away. Those callers usually install remote-access tools and sometimes capture banking or password info.
Will I lose my files?
Cleanup itself doesn't touch your documents or photos. If the infection is destructive — ransomware-style file encryption is the main case — we'll be honest about what's recoverable before doing anything.
Do I need to buy antivirus software afterward?
Usually not. Windows Defender ships built in and is genuinely good now. We'll get it configured correctly and add an on-demand second scanner only if your situation calls for it.
